The Voice: Week 1 (Is He Who He Says He Is?)

Questioning Authority

It is awesome to know God and love God, but one of the deepest desires of our Heavenly Father is for US to obey Him. However, in order to obey Him we have to understand His authority.

Reminder: God and His voice are synonymous since the start of Creation.

-Genesis 1:1-3-Let there BE!! Meaning everything exists because of the Voice of God.

-With such supreme POWER, HOW does Satan infiltrate and deceive the woman in the PERFECT environment, the perfect circumstances, and perfect abundant life?

-There was a question raised concerning God’s AUTHORITY!!

Satan immediately attacked the AUTHORITY of what God SAID:

1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3  But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

Genesis 3:1-4

>>>>>>>>>>>What is authority?

Definition: the power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience.

-Due to being Creator He has the ability to know and enforce: This is how He could tell Eve don’t eat or you will DIE!

—-God knows US from head to toe; because HIS VOICE is HOW WE CAME INTO EXISTENCE— Therefore….

What HE says is not a SUGGESTION!

If His Voice Declares it: It is SO!!

What/WHO in my life is causing me to question God’s authority?

What/WHO has the greater influence on my decision making?

Why is what THEY are saying more important than what God is saying??

Why am I listening to them more than the voice of God?

Thank you for creating us and making us in your image. You formed us from dust, shaped us and gave us life. Thank You!
-Every hair is numbered, and our steps are ordered by You. You will never leave us or forsake us, and your promises to us are YES and they are AMEN!!

Help us today to trust in your plans for us, what you are saying to us, what you are saying concerning us…….
When you tell us something is not good for us, help us to take what you say seriously….And when you grant us comfort and instruction, help us to respect your character enough to be obedient.

Help us to listen to You. In Jesus Name!
