Holy Week Consecration Day 1
The Act -Sin
Daily Study- Romans 6:1-14 (MKJV)
Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 Let it not be! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
Rom 6:3 Do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death?
Rom 6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father; even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Rom 6:5 For if we have been joined together in the likeness of His death, we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection;
Rom 6:6 knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him in order that the body of sin might be destroyed, that from now on we should not serve sin.
Rom 6:7 For he who died has been justified from sin.
Rom 6:8 But if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
Rom 6:9 knowing that when Christ was raised from the dead, He dies no more; death no longer has dominion over Him.
Rom 6:10 For in that He died, He died to sin once; but in that He lives, He lives to God.
Rom 6:11 Likewise count yourselves also to be truly dead to sin, but alive to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Rom 6:12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
Rom 6:13 Do not yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but yield yourselves to God, as one alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under Law, but under grace.
Adam’s disobedience in the Garden of Eden exposed us to sin’s destroying nature.
Sin’s affects everything around us. Nature’s decay, humanity’s decomposition….all of this is due to sin.
Before Adam disobeyed in the Garden of Eden everything had life and would not die. Once sin is introduced death becomes evident and damning.
Sin is not just an idea that is preached against in pulpits around the world, it is not some religious rhetoric…..Sin is DESTROYING humankind DAILY.
What is SIN?
Sin means to miss the mark or offend God. And truthfully we all do daily!
However, in our daily study the Apostle Paul speaks to us about sin, it’s affects but also the REMEDY and VICTORY over sin in the person and work of Jesus Christ! Jesus’ death represented so much!! He took on sin for us, and paid a price we could not pay for ourselves.
-Today let’s acknowledge the power of the risen Savior and what that means for us!! It means sin can no longer run our lives, it can NO LONGER destroy us!! Christ’s death and resurrection turned the tables in our favor!! We now have freedom! In Christ Jesus!
Father, Thank You for the sacrifice you made in the person of Jesus Christ! Thank You for crafting a plan to eliminate, and eradicate, the effects and power of sin!! We are no longer slaves or subject to its effects now that we are in Christ! Forgive us where we have missed the mark….and HELP US to walk in the freedom you have purchased on Calvary!!! In Jesus Name.
