Holy Week Consecration Day 3

The Advocate

John 19:30  When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

As we remember this night…a trial that happened illegally, and false accusations that were hurled at our Lord……..keep in mind this ENTIRE time, this was a PLANNED act of HUMILITY!! Jesus could have changed his MIND!

He even said to His Father, “Please take this cup (this idea, this assignment, this PURPOSE) from me….”

Mat 26:39  And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

The following words were so cryptic and yet so POWERFUL at the same time….”Nevertheless, not my will, but THY WILL.”

This was a CHOICE! That no one else could make! He entered into a courtroom knowing they would find Him guilty and PUNISH Him. In the Garden of Gethsemane, He had already made up HIS mind. And nothing, not even HIS OWN WILL, could change it!!

Remember: He CHOSE US……even over HIMSELF.

And when it was all over, He said it is finished!! Calculated suffering, for the sins of the world. Past, present, AND future!!

This love was/is different.

LORD Jesus. Thank you for this love, that led you to suffer for us. This love that drove you to forsake YOUR OWN WILL!! None of us could have done this!!! You took on the sins of mankind, for ALL TIME!! We say THANK YOU!! We don’t deserve it, but that’s YOUR love. It’s different. Better than we ever imagined. Thank You Jesus.
