The Scriptures say, “If you want to brag, then brag about the Lord.”
-2 Corinthians 10:17 CEV
Achievements are a product of hard work, dedication, and discipline. Celebration follows and then the feeling of pride and accomplishment should be the result. In today’s world/society celebration of achievement is made paramount: Anniversaries, graduations, birthdays, honors/awards days, ribbon cutting, grand openings ….the list goes on and on. Some achievements have symbols….marriage has the wedding ring, graduation has the diploma, honors/and awards have certificates, trophies and badges.
Even through every achievement, there also is the reality of God’s favor. See…we like to have our hay day and be commended, but many of us had to endure A LOT to get where we are! Some had to be patient, while others had to fight for every victory. Doors have been slammed in our face, negative comments and declarations have been spewed at our plight. We have been told “no”and “that’s not possible” MANY TIMES!
His favor defeats odds and stereotypes! His favor enhances potential and establishes our future. His favor opens doors no man can shut* and creates an oasis in dry places!* What may not “work” for them, is “working” for us, because of God’s hand on our life! There are moments where we can NOT accept credit for the blessings and provision that God has afforded us. I believe EVERY MOMENT is and should be accredited to the grace, love, and POWER of God!
I couldn’t brag if I wanted too….
